ADHD Assessments for Adults

We offer thorough and professional ADHD assessments for adults, following the latest NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines and the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition) criteria. Our assessments are designed to provide clarity, support, and recommendations to help individuals better understand their symptoms and access the right treatment.

Who is the ADHD Assessment For?

ADHD is not just a childhood condition—it often persists into adulthood, affecting daily life, work, relationships, and mental well-being. Our assessments are designed for adults (18+) who:

• Have experienced persistent difficulties with attention, impulsivity, or hyperactivity since childhood.
• Struggle with focus, organisation, time management, or emotional regulation.
• Feel overwhelmed by daily tasks or frequently procrastinate.
• Have difficulty maintaining relationships or employment due to inattentiveness or impulsivity.
• Suspect they may have undiagnosed ADHD and are seeking a formal diagnosis.

Our ADHD Assessment Process:  Our assessments are carried out by experienced clinicians trained in adult
ADHD diagnosis. The process includes:

1. Pre-Assessment Screening: Before the full assessment, we provide a screening questionnaire to help
determine whether a full diagnostic evaluation is appropriate.

2. Comprehensive Clinical Interview
A structured interview with a specialist, covering:

• Early childhood and developmental history.
• Current symptoms and their impact on daily life.
• Co-existing mental health conditions, such as anxiety or depression.
• Work, education, and social relationships.

3. Standardised ADHD Diagnostic Tools
We use NICE-recommended and DSM-5-compliant assessment tools, such as:

• DIVA-5 (Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults)
• Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS-5)

4. Collateral Information (if available)
To provide a thorough assessment, we may seek additional information from a partner, family member, or someone who knew you in childhood (if possible).

5. Diagnosis and Report

Following the assessment, we provide:
• A clear diagnosis based on DSM-5 criteria.
• A detailed clinical report with findings and recommendations.
• Guidance on next steps, including treatment options, workplace adjustments, and support services.

Post-Diagnosis Support and Treatment Options

If you receive an ADHD diagnosis, we can guide you through the next steps, including:

• Medication options (as per NICE guidelines).
• Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and coaching to develop coping strategies.
• Workplace and academic accommodations.
• Guidance on lifestyle adjustments to manage symptoms effectively.
